Tidy Labels for Confluence
Changelog
What changed in each version of Tidy Labels for Confluence, newest first.
Version 1.2 (30 October 2026)
- Space categories (Beta). Confluence admins can add, remove and rename space categories on many team spaces at once, from a new tab in Confluence administration, with a preview, a report, undo and Activity, as for labels (Activity lists both kinds of job, and says "No jobs yet." when it has none). The tab says how many spaces it left out because Confluence doesn't let Tidy Labels read their categories. It uses an Atlassian API that Atlassian marks as experimental and can change. If Confluence changes it, Space categories stops on your site by itself, and your label tools keep working.
- The Tidy Labels agent in Rovo. On sites with Rovo, ask it to find duplicate labels in a space or across the site, or to prepare a label merge, rename or delete. It has the rights of the settings pages, and it never changes a label itself: it says where to merge a group, it prepares nothing when no page or blog post would change, and you preview and start every job in Tidy Labels. In a space it works in that space; a Confluence admin asks outside a space, for example from Atlassian Home, to work on the whole site.
- Archived pages and recent changes. A report now names an archived page you can open, with the reason "Archived page", instead of only counting it, and a page you can open shows in a preview or report even when Confluence's search hasn't caught up with a recent change to it. When Confluence asks Tidy Labels to slow down, or its hourly limit is nearly used up, Tidy Labels stops looking such pages up, and those it hasn't looked up yet are treated as ones you can't open, until you look again later.
Version 1.1 (30 October 2026)
- Confluence's hourly limit. When Tidy Labels has used up the hourly limit Confluence sets for each app, jobs, previews and label lists pause until the time Confluence gives, and carry on by themselves in the window that was running them. Nothing done before the pause is lost or made twice. When Confluence says the limit is nearly used up, Tidy Labels slows down.
- A pause is yours. A job you pause never carries on by itself, even when you pause it just as the hourly limit paused it.
- History per person. When you create a job and have more than 100, your oldest finished jobs beyond the newest 100 leave the history, so one person's finished jobs no longer crowd out everyone else's.
- Advanced search. In the advanced CQL search of Bulk edit, put a value that contains a quote mark or a backslash in quotes (for example "O'Brien" in double quotes). A query Tidy Labels can't read the way Confluence does is refused, with a message that says what to change.
- Security. Every request that Tidy Labels' checks refuse now leaves a log line with codes only.
Version 1.0 (16 October 2026)
The first release:
- the labels of the site or a space, with usage counts, filtering and sorting;
- rename, merge and delete a label across the whole site or one space;
- groups of near-duplicate labels, and rarely used labels;
- add and remove labels in bulk on a space, a page tree or the pages a search finds;
- copy labels from a page to every page below it (Inherit);
- a preview before every change, Activity, and undo for what a job changed;
- "Labels for this page tree" in the page's menu, for people who can edit the page;
- everything runs with your own Confluence permissions, on Atlassian's Forge platform.
